We began life as Australia’s first online custom wheelbuilder, founded in a small storage facility in Sydney. As we grew, it became apparent that most wheel brands were selling products made in the same factories in Taiwan, slapping on huge margins with no real value added.

We realised, by going straight to the source, we could offer exceptional value and service, whilst also adopting the very latest technologies like hollow-bead extrusions.

Having cut up hundreds of smashed rims and busted hubs, we’ve seen first hand which materials, technologies, techniques, and geometries form a strong, long-lasting wheel.

With this intimate knowledge of what other wheel brands were getting right, we felt uniquely positioned to produce a line of wheels that could better serve the modern gravity rider’s needs.

Thus, Wingman was born.

It is unjust that durable MTB wheels are so expensive when the price disparity has little to do with manufacturing costs. Brands invent feeble, low-tier products in order to offer a full range. Doing it right only costs a few dollars more.
